A Local Approach to Androgenetic Alopecia.

AV^2 is aevX Bio’s investigational long-acting local therapy for androgenetic alopecia, designed to deliver sustained androgen-modulating activity within the scalp while minimising systemic exposure.

By combining established androgen biology with PLGA microsphere drug delivery, aevX aims to separate local therapeutic activity from systemic exposure.

aevX Microsphere Technology

Local delivery

PLGA microspheres encapsulating an androgen-modulating agent, delivered subcutaneously to the scalp

Sustained release

Slow, controlled release of the active agent designed to last for months

Local action

Designed to keep androgen modulation in the scalp and limit systemic exposure

Reduced burden

Lifting the burden of daily treatment while reducing the risk of physiological and mental health side effects

Targeting the Biology Where It Matters

Androgenetic alopecia is driven in part by the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on susceptible hair follicles.

Current androgen-modulating therapies demonstrate the relevance of this pathway, but systemic administration also affects DHT beyond the scalp.

aevX is developing a different approach: creating a local drug depot within the scalp designed to sustain activity directly at the treatment site.
